Hellfire-and-Brimstone is not designed to scare people just to be mean or gain control of people through religious manipulation and such. There are cult leaders who have historically used the fear of hell and the fear of death to get people to worship them and consider them some sort of mediator that each person must go through to get their marching orders from God.

Jesus Christ has nothing to do with any of that. He did not come to be served, but He came to serve and give Himself as a sacrifice to pay the price for our sin.

In short, when Satan rules, he rules selfishly, abusively, deceptively, manipulatively, cruelly, without regard for the well-being of anyone except for his own lusts and pride and greed and such. When Jesus rules, He rules though the power of love and grace and integrity and sincerity and courage.

Satan offers many plans of salvation and all lead to hell. Jesus offers one plan of salvation and it leads to heaven.

Which will you choose? Are you sure? Is Jesus on the throne of your life as your Lord and Savior? Does He get your trust? If so, He must also have your obedience as well or something else or someone else is your lord.
